At age 16, Dennis Dean was enrolled into a private school in Encinitas, California by the name of "Institute for the Study of Attention." The school was founded by Lester Ingber ( Ingber.com ) who was the principal teacher.
Dennis Dean de Cardiff was introduced to the foundational aspects of physics, Shotokan Karate and the Wu Style of Tai Chi amongst other classical teachings.

1979

Dennis moves in with Lester Ingber's senior teachers Kurt Rosi and John Bryant.

Dennis begins teaching the children's classes and privates at at the Lester Ingber's Shotokan Dojo in Solana Beach on the boardwalk. 

Dennis is introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

A karate student of the Lester Ingber's Shotokan Karate Dojo introduced Dennis to a Yoga Shala down the street from the Karate Dojo that was run by Mañju Jois, the son of the legendary yoga teacher K. Pattabhi Jois.
Dennis intensifies his trainings in both disciplines.

1985

 Dennis moves to Europe, primarily England where he travels, studies and works.

1990

Dennis accidentally finds his way to Shunryu Suzuki and his center north of San Francisco, in the Mill Valley area.

Dennis begins his official apprenticeship in a Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga under the guidance of Tim Miller ( Ashtanga Yoga Center, Encinitas) and K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, South India.

He begins professionally teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

1992

Dennis expands on his career as a teacher and begins teaching both internationally and nationally.
Starting annual yoga retreats in Yelapa, Mexico and Maui, Hawaii.
It's at this time he begins his studies in Iyengar Yoga. 

2000-2023

Dennis will be providing information on these years within the next few months. 

• Builds and provides stewardship for a sequential series of yoga studios in Encinitas, Cardiff by the Sea and Oceanside, Ca.

• Founds Pranayama.com

• Establishes the Mandiram Method.
